Henry Morgan (merchant) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Henry Morgan (merchant) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: "Morgan traveled to Europe on merchandise buying trips and it was in Paris, France he visited Le Bon Marché, that country's first department store. Impressed by what he saw, and aware Americans had begun copying the idea, in 1866 he opened what became the first department store in Canada. The business occupied four floors of a new building on St. James Street, carrying a selection of merchandise with a wholesale cost of more than half a million dollars. Morgan came up with the idea for window displays, frequently changing the products in order to catch the eye of passers-by."

Polar Prince - Icebreaker - Arctic Info

Polar Prince - Icebreaker - Arctic Info: "CCGS Labrador was a Wind-class icebreaker. First commissioned on July 8, 1954 as HMCS Labrador (pennant number AW 50) under the auspices of the Royal Canadian Navy, she was transferred to the Department of Transport on November 22, 1957. She was among the DOT fleet assigned to the nascent Canadian Coast Guard when that organization was formed in 1962 and Labrador's illustrious career marked the beginning of the CCG's icebreaker operations which continue to this day.

She extensively charted and documented the then-poorly-known Canadian Arctic, and was the first ship to circumnavigate North America in a single voyage."

diarmani.com: Katey Montague -- Growing Up Guns: "To date her videos on Youtube have received over 950,000 views, and at the current viewing rate she will see her one millionth viewer sometime in September. That's pretty amazing for a young woman, and a pretty powerful showing for the idea that one twelve-year-old girl had after coming face-to-face with the overwhelming power of the State."
